Our Beginnings
Windows 2000 began in 1994 as a true family venture built on hard work, pride, and craftsmanship. At the heart of it was Jill’s father, Merv Bowden, whose dedication and values shaped the company’s spirit from day one.
From that modest space, a small team of three office staff and five factory workers started crafting aluminium windows and doors for the Auckland market.
Growing the Business
As demand grew, so did the company. In 2002, Windows 2000 moved into a purpose-built factory on the same Tidal Road site - creating room to expand its operations and its team. The company has always valued loyalty and people - none more so than Mike Toki, the very first employee, who was with the business from 1994 through to 2024.
Today & Beyond
Now led by Simon White, the grandson of founder Merv Bowden, Windows 2000 continues its family story into the next generation. The team has grown to include 10 office and sales staff, 16 factory staff, and a dedicated installation crew, working on projects that stretch across Auckland - from the far north to Waiheke and Great Barrier Islands.
